Horenka

One of the most destroyed villages near Kyiv

About the locality

Horenka is the only village near Kyiv that could be reached by tram until recently. Although it is located in the Bucha district, russian forces, unlike Bucha, could not occupy it. However, from the first days of the war, the village was in a kilometer of the front zone.
The village was not ready for military action and could not ensure safety of people: on its huge area there was no working hydrant, and the nearest bomb shelter is located in Pushcha-Vodytsya. From the first days of the war and the first damage to infrastructure, residents were left without protection, electricity, gas and water.
